Handcrafted with grapes grown at the Twin Peaks Vineyard, Utah Cabernet Sauvignon enchants with notes of black cherry, black currant, tart blackberry, and vanilla. The wine celebrates flavors of the region, accented by grapes grown in soils of “ancient granite and decomposed lava rock on Navajo sandstone.” Utah wines are imaginatively composed by winemaker and I/G Winery founder Doug McCombs.
The delicious combinations, thoughtful grape-curation, and signature winemaking that happens at I/G Winery make this local establishment a favorite of the region. The winery was the first in Cedar City since the late 1800s, opening its doors in 2021 in a converted cottage behind the Iron Gate Bed & Breakfast.
A decade later, the I/G winery family business has grown substantially. 60 new vineyards have also popped up in Southern Utah since the winery first opened its doors. It is a staple in Cedar City entertainment, regularly hosting live music events, ice cream socials, paint nights, and wine club gatherings. I/G Winery also founded the upcoming Utah Wine Festival event.
The 2021 Utah Wine Festival “Wine Among the Willows” is scheduled for Saturday, August 7th. The event is a collaboration between Swaner Preserve and the Utah Wine Festival to bring a sampling of five Utah wines to Park City. Tickets include wine samples, hors d’oeuvre boxes, and the opportunity to learn about the climate considerations and environmental benefits of choosing local Utah wines. Flights, wine-by-the-glass, cocktails, beer-on-tap, spirits, and small bites are available daily at the winery. Make it part of your night out and plan to visit this eponymous Southern Utah foodie experience while in the Duck Creek Village-Cedar City area.
